Elizabeth Gilbert’s nasty divorce prompted her to take off on a soul-searching tour to Italy, India and Bali, where she learnt to ‘eat, pray and love’.
So came about her book Eat, Pray, Love, which in turn, led to the Julia Roberts movie by the same name.
The popularity of the movie has now inspired a Las Vegas-based travel company to offer an Eat, Pray, Love tour.
The travel company is offering customers the same experience that Elizabeth Gilbert had. It is offering a week-long tour of Bali from May 20-27, 2010.
The experience would also include palm readings by Ketut Liyer, who finds a mention in Gilbert’s book, as well as open air showers, praying at Hindu temples, meditation and yoga.
The Eat, Pray, Love movie is directed by Nip/Tuck fame Ryan Murphy, and is slated for release in 2010.
It also stars Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men), Richard Jenkins (The Visitor), Viola Davis ( Doubt) and James Franco (Pineapple Express). Julia Roberts recently visited Italy, India and Bali to shoot for the movie.
