What? ! Julia Roberts paid something greater than $1. 5 million for 45 second Lavazza business: Is Julia Roberts a sellout or just a smart business woman? The case could be made for either now that the actress has reportedly been paid more than a whopping $1.5 million for a 45-second coffee commercial where she doesn't even speak.

According to the Daily Mail, the Oscar winner filmed the spot in Rome earlier this month for Lavazza, an Italian coffee brand. In the advertisement, Roberts appears as the goddess Venus, with an actor playing famed painter Sandro Botticelli, who is unhappy his subject won't smile. But when Roberts takes a sip of espresso, she can't help but smile her famous toothy grin.

As it turns out, the actress is in good company. Her pal and former "Ocean's Eleven" co-star George Clooney filmed his own ad – albeit one more than twice as long and filled with humorous dialogue – for Nespresso.

In his spot, which aired in Europe and Australia and was one of a series the actor has done, Clooney purchases a Nespresso machine before he meets an untimely death. At Heaven's Gates, he meets St. Peter, as portrayed by legendary actor John Malkovich. When Clooney protests, "It's not my time," St. Peter eyes the shopping bag and suggests, "Maybe we could make an arrangement."

Soon enough, the duo are drinking their espresso with two gorgeous women. As Clooney learns about heaven – you don't sleep, there are bathrooms but they're not necessary and there aren't  any producers, agents or managers – he realizes he no longer minds staying. "Coffee, beautiful angels and just you and me. I like it," he declares. While it's unclear how much Clooney makes for his ads, neither superstar needs the money.

So what makes it worth doing? "You want to have a product you are proud of and not embarrassed by," Clooney has explained, according to the Mail. "You don't want to do ones that aren't classy. That's the truth. That's the secret to it."
