(added few months ago!)

A 2008 film starring Julia Roberts is finally set to hit theaters. According to Entertainment Weekly, “Fireflies in the Garden” will open in the United States this fall. The film has been released in most other countries.

Julia Roberts 2008 Film To Be Released

“Fireflies in the Garden,” one of the first live-action movies Roberts filmed after “Oceans Twelve,” co-stars Ryan Reynolds and was first screened at the Berlin Film Festival in 2008. It will be self-released by the filmmakers October 12 in Los Angeles and New York.

The film was set to be released in the U.S., but progress was halted when the former production company shut down. It stars the 43-year-old Roberts as matriarch of a family “forced to cope with the consequences of a sudden tragedy,” Entertainment Weekly reported. Reynolds plays a famous romance novelist. Writer and director Dennis Lee told the press he was thrilled about the late release.

“I am so pleased our film will finally get a theatrical release in the U.S.,” he said in a statement. “Anyone familiar with our story knows the road to this moment has been paved with challenges. It’s not lost on me how much care and determination it took to bring ‘Fireflies’ to light.” According to producers, “Fireflies in the Garden” intends to expand following the first limited release.

Julia Roberts might be 43, but looked more than perfect when she showed off her enviable figure in a bikini during her family break in Hawaii. The 'Pretty Woman' star looked ageless in dark blue tropical patterned string bikini as she spent time splashing in the ocean with her children and relaxing on the sand, reports the Daily Mail.

Looks like the Oscar winning actress has clearly taken good care of herself over the years to look toned and taut. Though Roberts spent most of the day getting tanned, later on she covered up to protect her skin with a white shirt and sarong wrap. The actress was joined by her husband of nine years, cameraman Daniel Moder, and three children twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, 5, and son Henry, 4.

Julia Roberts looks remarkable in a swimsuit at 43 as she unwinds on household vacation in Hawaii

She was recently at the centre of a row over airbrushing use in beauty commercials but it is clear that Julia Roberts is pretty much picture perfect. The 43-year-old Oscar winner put her enviable bikini body on display yesterday, showing off a figure women half her age would be jealous of. The Pretty Woman star looked timeless in a blue two-piece as she relaxed on the beach with her family during a Hawaiian getaway.

Julia Roberts looks remarkable in a swimsuit at 43 as she unwinds on household vacation in Hawaii

The actress has clearly taken good care of herself over the years and still looked toned and taut as she spent time splashing in the ocean with her children and relaxing on the sand. Julia spent most of the day getting tanned in just the dark blue tropical patterned string bikini but late covered up to protect her skin with a white shirt and sarong wrap. She also donned a straw hat and large sunglasses to cover her face as she lay under a make shift tent she cleverly made for her children to play in. She even took a dip in the water in her clothes, trying to cool off from the searing temperatures.

The actress was joined by her husband of nine years, cameraman Daniel Moder, and the couples three children, Twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, five, and son Henry, four. The children appeared to be enjoyed their time at the beach, playing in the sand and learning how to body board as their proud parents looked on.
The family have followed in the footsteps of the like of Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston and Allesandra Ambrosio who have all headed to the celeb favourite holiday destination in recent weeks.

Despite her recent movie success - Larry Crown netted over $60 million at the box office in it's first six weeks - Julia has recently found herself at the centre of an airbrushing scandal. Ads featuring the beauty were banned by the Advertising Standards Agency in the UK following scores of complaints saying that they were misleading. The L'oreal and Lancome ads, which also featured model Christie Turlington, had been digitally altered to make her complexion appear flawless. L’Oreal admitted that certain ‘post production’ techniques had been used on the image of the actress. But it insisted the picture was an accurate representation of her ‘naturally healthy and glowing skin’. The ad claimed the foundation ‘recreates the aura of perfect skin’.

The brand claimed the product was the result of 10 years of research and suggested the science was the subject of seven patent applications. The actress was reportedly paid around £15million to be the face of the Lancome brand. However, she is, perhaps, an unlikely ambassador for the company. Last year, the 43-year-old star and mother of three condemned the obsession with beauty and youth as ‘shallow’.

Julia Roberts artificially glamorized promotion embargoed by watchdog

Posted in : Gossips

Julia Roberts artificially glamorized promotion embargoed by watchdogCosmetics giant L’Oréal has had two ads banned by the advertising watchdog after it was accused of misleading the public with excessive airbrushing.

Airbrushing creates a false impression of beauty said Lib Dem MP Jo Swinson, who brought the complaints. And there are concerns that it puts pressure on women and young girls who compare themselves unfavourably to the unrealistic images.

Flawless:Airbrushing involves electronically enhancing images on a computer to accentuate certain features and make skin look flawless. One of the banned ads featured Julia Roberts for Lancôme and the other, Christy Turlington for Maybelline, both L’Oréal cosmetics brands.

Commenting on the Julia Roberts ad, the Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) said: “On the basis of the evidence we had received we could not conclude that the ad image accurately illustrated what effect the product could achieve, and that the image had not been exaggerated by digital post production techniques.”

Misleading: The ASA said that the airbrushing on the Christy Turlington ad was also likely to mislead.

Jo Swinson and the equalities minister Lynne Featherstone have set up the Campaign for Body Confidence and have called on advertisers to be honest about their use of airbrushing. Miss Swinson welcomed the ban, saying: “This ruling demonstrates that the advertising regulator is acknowledging the dishonest and misleading nature of excessive retouching.

Depressed: “Pictures of flawless skin and super-slim bodies are all around, but they don’t reflect reality.

“With one in four people feeling depressed about their body, it’s time to consider how these idealised images are distorting our idea of beauty. Last week alarming figures revealed that almost 100 children aged between five and seven have had hospital treatment over the past three years for anorexia, bulimia or similar problems.

Sexualisation: Responding to the figures, Susan Ringwood, chief executive of the eating disorders charity Beat, warned: “The ideal figure promoted for women these days is that of a girl, not an adult woman.  “Girls see the pictures in magazines of extremely thin women and think that is how they should be.

Last February the author of a Home Office commissioned report into child sexualisation said exposure to an increasing amount of “hyper-sexualised” images by the media was selling young people the idea that they have to look “sexy” and “hot”. Dr Linda Papadopoulos said this “drip drip” effect was causing many young people to grow up with “poor self-esteem, depression and eating disorders”.

Julia Roberts too somewhat for Britain; Matt Damon requires a lesson

Posted in : Gossips

(added few months ago!)

Matt Damon appeared this past weekend at a protest event called "Save Our Schools," which really should have been called "Save the Public School Teachers' Salaries.""This has been a horrible decade for teachers. I can't imagine how demoralized you must feel," Damon emoted.

"But I came here today to deliver an important message to you: As I get older, I appreciate more and more the teachers that I had growing up. And I'm not alone. There are millions of people just like me," the actor said.

Damon added rhetoric about teachers who are "feeling down, or exhausted, or unappreciated." He also sympathized with teachers hearing themselves referred to as "overpaid" on TV news. He additionally got in a dig at the "corporate reformer who has literally never taught anyone anything."The actor told Think Progress, the liberal blog of the Center for American Progress Action Fund, that he wants to see Gov. Scott Walker recalled.

When asked if he supported the gubernatorial recall effort in Wisconsin, Damon, replied, "Among other things, yeah."Damon might take a look at the fact that the governor he's attempting to get rid of is merely trying to limit the ability of public employees to gnaw off the arms that feed them.

Julia Roberts wasn't magnificent enough: Star right around celebs whose notices were prohibited over digitally embellishing

Posted in : Gossips

Julia Roberts wasn't magnificent enough Star right around celebs whose notices were prohibited over digitally embellishingThey were hired for their beauty. But it seems that Julia Roberts and Christy Turlington weren’t quite beautiful enough for L’Oreal. Pictures of them were digitally altered to make their skin appear even more flawless in advertisements for the beauty firm. Both ads have been banned by the Advertising Standards Authority after complaints that they were misleading.

The complaints were brought by Lib-Dem MP Jo Swinson, who argued that airbrushing creates a false impression of beauty. She claims the results put pressure on women and young girls who compare themselves unfavourably to the unrealistic images. The Julia Roberts ad showed the actress in a two-page magazine spread for Teint Miracle foundation by Lancôme, one of L’Oreal’s make-up brands.

L’Oreal admitted that certain ‘post production’ techniques had been used on the image of the actress. But it insisted the picture was an accurate representation of her ‘naturally healthy and glowing skin’.

L’Oreal was also in the dock over its image of Christy Turlington in a magazine ad for The Eraser foundation, from its Maybelline brand. Parts of her face had been apparently been covered with the foundation while other areas were left natural to show the effects of the product. The text claimed the product: ‘Conceals instantly, visibly, precisely ... Covers dark circles and fine lines to help conceal crow's feet - as if erased!’

Additional text described the product as ‘The New Anti-Aging Foundation’. Small print along the bottom admitted the image was an ‘Illustrated effect’. L’Oreal said the image had been digitally re-touched to ‘lighten the skin, clean up make-up, reduce dark shadows and shading around the eyes, smooth the lips and darken the eyebrows’. However, again, it insisted that the image was an accurate reflection of the benefits of the product.

The ASA was not convinced, ruling the images could not be used again in their current form. On the Julia Roberts picture, it said: ‘On the basis of the evidence we had received we could not conclude that the ad image accurately illustrated what effect the product could achieve, and that the image had not been exaggerated by digital post production techniques.’It said the airbrushing on the Maybelline advertisement was also likely to mislead. This is not the first time a beauty company has come under fire over faking images. An advertisement for an Olay anti-aging product featuring Twiggy was banned in 2009.

Jo Swinson and the equalities minister Lynne Featherstone have set up the Campaign for Body Confidence and have called on advertisers to be honest about their use of airbrushing. She welcomed the ban, saying: ‘This ruling demonstrates that the advertising regulator is acknowledging the dishonest and misleading nature of excessive retouching. ‘Pictures of flawless skin and super-slim bodies are all around, but they don’t reflect reality. ‘With one in four people feeling depressed about their body, it’s time to consider how these idealised images are distorting our idea of beauty.

Julia Roberts acclaims Tom Hanks

Posted in : Gossips

(added few months ago!)

Julia Roberts acclaims Tom HanksThey last appeared together in 2007 film "Charlie Wilson's War" and now Julia Roberts has teamed up with Tom Hanks again in his directorial venture "Larry Crowne", and she is all praise for his multi-tasking abilities.

"Tom gives 100 percent in every department all day long. He's happy. He's buoyant. He's present. It's mind-boggling that this is his second time directing, and he has it down. He can shape-shift from acting to directing. It's pretty impressive," Roberts said in an e-mail interaction.

Hanks has not only directed the film but has also produced and written it. Distributed by Universal Pictures, the film is about a middle-aged Navy veteran Larry Crowne (Hanks), who after losing his job at a retail chain tries to change his life by going back to college. In his public-speaking class, Larry gets attracted to his teacher Mercedes Tainot (Roberts), who is herself upset with her husband.

"The story is charming, yet topical, for so many of the characters who are losing faith and trying to cope by rediscovering themselves. I was intrigued by it all, especially Mercedes and her drinking problem," she said.

"As an actor to be able to play that, it is so fun and heartbreaking and challenging. She (Mercedes) has pickled herself into this cocoon of an unhappy life. So without hesitation, I called Tom back and said I would hitch my wagon to his," she added.

Roberts started her Hollywood career with 1987 film "Firehouse". However, she became a star after playing the lead in 1990's romantic comedy "Pretty Woman".

She won the Academy Award for Best Actress in 2001 for her performance in " Erin Brockovich". Roberts is known for her films "My Best Friend's Wedding", "Mystic Pizza", "Notting Hill", "Runaway Bride", " Valentine's Day", "Ocean's Eleven" and "Ocean's Twelve".

Born to Baptist and Catholic parents, the 43-year-old actress started practicing Hinduism in 2009 after she visited India to shoot for her film "Eat, Pray, Love".

"Hinduism is something that I'm very intrigued by and very interested in. Along with my husband Danny Moder and our three children, twins Phinnaeus and Hazel and Henry - we go to temples to chant, pray and celebrate," said the actress, who loves "Indian spicy food".

"Shooting in India was an enlightening experience for me. My children love India. Hazel said when she grows up, that's where (India) she's going to live," she added.

Currently Roberts is working on Indian director Tarsem Singh's "Snow White" and the actress says, "His version of the Evil Queen is just going to be so fun."

Julia Roberts would like to uncovered it all

Posted in : Gossips

(added few months ago!)

In the course of giving an interview, Oscar-winning actor, Julia Roberts said that she wishes to go fully frontal for a film. When asked what she would like to do after having done some steamy scenes in films, the actor who’s known for her ‘brazen’ award-winning performances like Erin Brockovich said, “Sex, full frontal.”

Julia Roberts would like to uncovered it all

Roberts apparently also said that the next time she andBFF, actor Tom Hanks come together, the film might have an R rating (US Censor Board rating for serious sexual content).

Apparently Hanks is still wary of shooting such a scene with Roberts as he remembers that the kiss they shared in their first film together was hotly debated both before, and hence explicit sex “would need much discussion too”.

Roberts, a mother of three now,had years ago elicited a debate when she flashed underarm hair at a film awards function. Much before Lady Gaga in fact, who did the same, except she painted it green.

Julia Roberts has begun sewing classes

Posted in : Gossips

(added few months ago!)

The 'Larry Crowne' actress - who has seven-year-old twins Hazel and Phinnaeus and four-year-old son Henry with husband Danny Moder - has taken up some new hobbies so that her "brain doesn't turn to mush" as she gets older.

She said: "I've started sewing classes recently. I made some big pillows for the kids and some really simple pants for Danny. I'm also taking piano lessons with my kids. "In your 40s, you're supposed to learn new things so your brain doesn't turn to mush. So now I'm practicing piano scales."Julia did not used to "appreciate" the spare time she had earlier in her career, and she now spends a lot of free time with her family.

She added: "I must have had bags of spare time before I had children but I don't know what I did with it and I didn't appreciate it. But it's such a terrific trade off."The 43-year-old beauty recently described Danny - who she wed in 2002 - as her "best friend", and believes it was her destiny to marry him.

She said: "I hope there are good people who agree that I have done good, kind things in my life. But to really, ultimately, stand fully in a moment of discovering that I was born to love and be the wife of this man. "Danny is my best friend, my truth-teller. There's something you can build a life on. "He stands by the choices he has made. He will never blame it on somebody else and I have never seen anybody else do that."
